A Statistical Studies of Pterygium in the Country

Abstract
|

|
This is the statistical studies of 159 cases of pterygium, which were visit at ophthalmologic outpatient of the Jung-Eup General Hospital during the past l year(Apr. 1989. to Mar. 1990)
1. Sex incidence was more higher in women(78%) than men(22%). The Highest incidence was noted in the 51 to 61 year age group(36.48%).
2. The chief complaints were growing tissue(69.81%) conjunctival injection (12.570/o), foreign body & sore sense(7.54%), tearing(3.14%) and visual disturbance(1.25%) in order of frequency
3. Both eye was occurred frequent (36.48%) than left eye and right eye, which were 33. 33% and 30.19% respectively.
4. The cataract of combined disease was the most common (59.65%), and the next common disease were conjunctivitis (19.30%), Entropion(5.27%), hypertropia (5.27%). 5. The involved degree of cornea was 74 case in G I , 126 case in G II and 8 case in G III.
